Get Hands-On with Agriculture at the “Exploring Food & Farming” Activity Day!
Thursday 14th August 2025 | 9am – 6pm | Easton College, Norwich
Following the success of our pilot event in August 2024, and our activity day in May 2025, Exploring Food & Farming is back — bigger and better — to inspire and educate even more young people about the world of food production and modern agriculture.
The Food & Farming Discovery Trust is inviting 13 to 15-year-olds from non-agricultural backgrounds to an unforgettable day of hands-on learning and exploration at Easton College. Exploring Food & Farming is a full-day adventure designed to open young eyes to the journey of food from field to fork, and to show that farming is as fascinating as it is essential.

Policies
Discipline and responsibility
We try our best to ensure that no one feels left out. Every member of the group has an equal right to enjoy themselves and we keep a close check on teasing, bullying or any other anti-social behaviour that may spoil an individual’s enjoyment. Please tell your children that if they feel they are not happy for any reason, they should inform their group leader or any other member of staff immediately. When necessary, we will be firm with children who are jeopardising the enjoyment of others and will not tolerate any such behaviour. If problem behaviour is persistent or serious, we will contact the parent or guardian to decide on further action. Please note it may on occasion be necessary to contact parents/guardians during the event hours and that FFDT/Easton College reserve the right to remove participants if deemed necessary. Because of this we ask that a parent/guardian is contactable and available to collect throughout the day in case the need arises for them to attend.
Mobile Phones
We recognise that most parents/guardians value their children having a mobile phone with them. We are happy for children to have a phone, but they will only be able to use them in situations where practical and safe to do so in line with our mobile phone policy. For example, use will not be allowed during activity sessions unless otherwise specified. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to such devices and we advise that you have adequate mobile phone insurance cover in place. Misuse of mobile devices, viewing or sharing inappropriate material, abuse of social media and any conduct that could be deemed as bullying or any other inappropriate use of a mobile device (including theft or damage to others property) could result in your child being sent home.
Alcohol and smoking
Consumption of alcohol and smoking by guests under 18 is banned at Easton College, even if parents/guardians are willing to give their permission. Please note that guests who break this rule will be excluded from the course and collection will be at the expense of parents/guardians. Please note that the above rules covering smoking also extend to E-cigarettes and vaping.

The below items are banned at all our centres. It is essential to check that your child does not have any of the following items with them during their time at Easton College:
