This isn’t your average education day. It’s a full-on, hands-on farming adventure designed especially for young people aged 13-15, who come from a non-farming background.
Throughout the day, participants will dive into real farm life and discover how food makes its journey from field to fork. Aswell as exploring the abundance of careers in this sector.
Expect to:
🚜 Try tractor driving
🌱 Learn about soil identification and soil health
🐄 Get involved in livestock husbandry and animal handling
🍦 Visit a local food producer
27th May 2026 – Ice Cream Edition 🍦
Participants will visit a local dairy and ice cream parlour, where they’ll learn how milk becomes ice cream and even make their own delicious creation to take home!
5th August 2026 – Butchers Visit 🥩
Participants will visit a local butcher’s to understand how meat is prepared, the importance of animal welfare, and how skilled butchery plays a key role in the food chain.
